      Hi radsare1005,

I don’t know whether I was good at science or not, I was good at science exams at any rate and whilst I wasn’t the most popular person in school I did have lots of good friends.

      cheers

      Hi radare1005,
Hell yes!!! I did all sciences in A-level and I loved school. but I was really involved in sports and acting, so I knew everyone. Being smart doesn’t make you unpopular. If people don’t want to be your friend just because your smart, then they are usually the ones that don’t become as successful in life, or are just jealous that they can see you will go far in life.

When you go to university, it is completely different, everyone is trying to outsmart each other 😀 You are trying to be the best in your class.

I still know pretty much everyone at school now, and the ones that are still living at home wish they studied harder in school. They can see that those who worked hard (but still had a bit of fun – which is sooo important) now live in the big cities and get to travel the world.

It is not important to be popular. If you just worry about yourself and not what others think, then you will be the trendsetter and they will follow you.

I know its hard not to think about what others say about you, but when you are older, you will remember this advice and laugh that you ever cared what people thought about you in school.

I do anything now that makes me different to others. When you are an adult, people want to be different, people want to be special from others, people want to be the best! This is how you have to get jobs and stand out of the crowd. The world is getting so busy and crowded, that you need to stand out and be different to get jobs and interviews.

So what makes you different from others?? Protect it and you will go very far in life 😀

      Hi radsare1005!

Yes, I was good at science in school… it was my favorite subject and part of why I decided to do Chemistry at University once I finished school.

I wouldn’t say I was the most popular girl in class, but I wasn’t unpopular… I still have quite a few friends from school that I keep in touch with (although bit hard because they are very far away… facebook and chats help loads!)

I think it helped that I didn’t try to rub it in anyone’s faces that I was smart or whatever… I actually tried in some cases to help some of the people who had a really hard time in Chemistry, for example. However, it always important to keep a balance and do other stuff like sports or music or whatever else you can have fun with and have friends through…

I think the important thing is to do what you like, and as Hannah says, know that everyone is different and rather than think that’s a bad thing, to actually enjoy it and appreciate it!

      Hope that helps,
      Daniela

      Hi radsare1005,

I’d like to say I was good at science, yeah. I certainly did well in my exams but I found practical work a bit difficult. Really had to work hard to be able to do well in practicals. I found Physics hardest though, because of all of the equations and things like that. I hate maths haha!

I had a small group of close friends but I wasn’t popular really. There was a decent number of us who weren’t cool but were still liked enough by everyone so we got by!

      Cheers,

      Ian

      Hey,

Yeah I was good at Science at school although not necessarily the best in the class. I think I was popular enough at school and certainly didn’t feel that being good at science got in the way of that.

As Hannah said when you get a little older and look back it seems funny how much you cared about what other people thought. The people who are now living the most interesting and exciting lives were probably not considered cool then.
