• Question: If I dig a hole through the Earth (from one end to another), then if I jump through it, will I fall out the other side or what? Because when I jump in it I will be falling DOWN but how could I come out the other side falling DOWN. Thatโ€™s impossible. Someone please answer this question

      Hi siddy,
If you could get through all the lava and the solid steaming hot core of the earth you could …and if you survived ๐Ÿ˜›

Also, the earth’s core is where the gravity is, so you would probably just end up trapped in the middle of the earth.

People think there is more than lava down there…..tell me what you see when you go

      Hi Siddy,

You wouldn’t fall out the other side, no. If you made it down to the Earth’s core, you’d be cooked and smushed by the heat and pressure!

But, let’s say you survive that – would you fly out the other side? Nope! The Earth’s centre of gravity is in the Earth’s core so everything gets pulled into the middle. You’d get stuck there in the core!

      Cheers,

      Ian

      hi siddy,

I think we discussed this in the live chat this morning? You’d eventually burn up as the earth gets hotter as you go down – the centre of the earth is molten metal and very hot indeed.

      cheers

      Hi Siddy,
we can have theories over this question but because no one has ever done it we don’t know!! If we cut the earth in half it would look a bit like the ben and jerrys core ice cream.. you would be stuck somewhere in the middle of that caramel/lava bit!
Maybe if you had a special suit it could work??
