Thanks for the question! That’s an interesting one because I got my first job as a scientist when I was 23 (so after I’d finished university) but I thought of myself as a scientist long before that. I’d say that as soon as you realise you’re interested in learning about the way the world works and you start investigating things then you could call yourself a scientist. I realised I loved science in Year 7 when I started learning about it in detail at school, so when I was 11.
